Business Cards
Highly overrated as a marketing
tool. You're better off funneling your money into something more marketing orientated.
People will only hang onto your business cards if you give them a reason to do
so in the first place. Even so, it pays to put more than just your name,
rank, and serial number on the cards. Try adding some benefits, and your
main point of difference.
Hints and Tips:
1.
Include
what you do and some benefits.
2.
Be
creative with colors and layout.
3- Give people a reason to hang onto the card.
4.
Use
the back to explain your company's services or history.
5.
Test
and measure. Just hand them to everyone. Rating: 2/5
Networking
Functions
Can be extremely
effective. People buy from people they like, know, and trust. If you get to
know people on a social basis, they are more likely to do business with you.
This method can outstrip every other method if done right. You need the right
mix of genuine friendliness and salesmanship. That is, don't be too pushy, but
be pushy enough. Make it easy for the other person, and follow up!
